Our Catch 22 summer highlights

It’s been a busy one, but as usual, an extremely fun and rewarding one thanks to our loyal customers and staff.

1.       Opening The Nook

Our regulars will know that The Nook was in the works for a long time before coming to fruition this summer, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of local businesses and tradespeople who helped bring the venue to life. Now, we have a bright and busy tapas and lounge bar, perfect for date nights; catch-ups with friends and family gatherings.

2.       Getting into Good Food Guide 2025 and Hardens Guide 2025

To be recognised by two of the UK’s most respected food publications is not only a huge honour, but a testament to the dedication, creativity, and passion of our entire team. These guides are trusted by food lovers across the country for their rigorous standards and genuine appreciation of exceptional dining experiences. To see our name alongside some of the best in the industry is incredibly humbling, and a milestone we’re proud to celebrate. Thank you to our customers and team for your support, as always.

3.       Cooking with Chris ‘Flamebaster’

One of the most exciting highlights of summer was stepping in front of the camera for an episode of Chris Cooks Cymru with Chris Roberts (AKA Flamebaster) — a true icon in the Welsh culinary world. Sharing our kitchen, our story, and our food with Chris was an unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait to see the programme air in 2026.

4.       Maintaining 5 stars on TripAdvisor

Among the many highlights of the summer is maintaining our 5-star rating on TripAdvisor — especially when we’ve been so busy. This recognition means so much because it comes directly from you, our guests. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, we strive to offer genuine hospitality, great food, and a warm atmosphere — and your reviews tell us we’re on the right track. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences.

5.       Growing the Catch 22 family (literally!)

This summer brought us some very special news — Neil and Mel will be welcoming a baby into the world this autumn. Balancing family life and running a restaurant won’t be without its challenges, but we know the most exciting chapter is still yet to come, and we couldn’t be more excited!
